ABOUT “BE A BRUIN”

Hundreds of hockey players, a lifetime devoted to a sport they love and all with the lifelong dream of playing in the NHL. All will vie for a chance to attend the 2006 Boston Bruins Training Camp and perhaps an NHL contract. They will put it all on the line, hoping that when their number is called they can perform in front of the judges the way they have always practiced and played - hoping that this moment is theirs.

A sports reality/competition TV series

• Want a chance to win an NHL contract?
• 8 episodes featuring head to head competition among some of the best hockey players in the North America.
• To be aired on the New England Sports Network November 2006 through February 2007.
• Featuring coaching and evaluation by hockey greats Brad Park, Terry O’Reilly and Gerry Cheevers.
• Featuring precision shooting, dazzling stick-handling skills, imposing skating and compelling personal dramas.
• Hundreds of hockey players 18 and older from all over will compete against the clock and against one another with one ultimate goal – a chance to win an NHL contract.
• Each registrant will pay a non-refundable fee of $100.00. Each can choose a date and time in April or May of 2006 to report to the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, Massachusetts.
• Upon arrival each will be shown a video of a current Boston Bruin demonstrating the eight (8) measurement skills which involve shooting, skating and stick handling drills. The on ice evaluations of the displayed skills will be strictly quantitative and objective. Players will be measured using their times with bonus points for accuracy. Goaltenders drills - 3 skating, 2 puckhanding and passing and 3
  agility drills. Full equipment is necessary.

• The top 36 will win an all expenses paid week of competition at “Be A Bruin” Training Camp in July.
• Camp will take place at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro, Massachusetts. Each will participate in four hours a day of intense head to head competition and on-ice quantitative evaluation by Brad Park, Gerry Cheevers and Terry O’Reilly.
• Over the course of the week the players will be evaluated by the 3 legendary players along with 2 Bruin Scouts. Management from the other New England AHL teams will be invited to attend!
• Cuts will be made during the six days of “ Be A Bruin “ camp. • Three will attend camp with the Boston Bruins.
• From the group of 36 the top forward, defenseman and goaltender will be invited to Boston Bruins training camp in the fall of 2006.
• Each of the winners will have a chance at earning an NHL contract as they will have a legitimate shot of making the team. Others can earn the right to attend an AHL camp and earn a pro contract!
